Refresh, Renew, and Rejuvenate Your Skin

Microdermabrasion & Dermaplaning in Eustis, FL

When our skin is healthy and vibrant, others take notice of our radiance. But over time, a buildup of dead skin cells, toxins, and oils can dull our luster and take a toll on our confidence. This buildup can also prevent new skin cells from surfacing, clog our pores, and make our skincare products less effective.

Microdermabrasion and dermaplaning are two exfoliation procedures that help you share your true radiance. Scrub away the old and make way for the new with these reliable, rejuvenating skin care procedures.

How Microdermabrasion and Dermaplaning Work

Microdermabrasion is a method of refreshing and restoring your facial skin using exfoliants and vacuum suction. To start, we’ll prepare your skin and use a specialized tool to simultaneously scrub and suck out dead and dull skin cells. By applying careful pressure with the applicator wand, we then clear away the dead skin, oils, and toxins responsible for holding back the next, healthier layer of skin.

Dermaplaning involves manually scraping dead skin cells with a premium, surgical-grade scalpel. Our highly skilled estheticians use this sharp blade to remove the outer layer of dead skin cells. At the same time, vellus hair (or “peach fuzz”) is also removed, which can act as a hiding place for extra dirt and oil to build up and cause breakouts.

Benefits of Microdermabrasion and Dermaplaning

While these two procedures have pros and cons for different skin types, concerns, and goals, they share many skin rejuvenating benefits. In addition to being completely non-invasive, comfortable, and quick, these procedures also come with the following advantages:

  • Smoother, more radiant skin
  • Brighter complexion
  • Boosted collagen production
  • Defense against signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduction in pore size
  • Improved healing of acne scars
  • Fewer breakouts

Who Is a Good Candidate for Microdermabrasion and Dermaplaning?

Healthy adults seeking improved skin tone and texture, tightened skin, and an overall rejuvenated appearance are ideal candidates for these procedures. We typically recommend microdermabrasion to anyone who is struggling with drab or lackluster skin and doesn’t suffer from skin conditions like acne, rosacea, or sensitivity. Dermaplaning is best for those with sensitive skin, aging skin, dry skin, or acne-prone skin.

At ALo Medical, our team will discuss your goals with you during a personalized consultation to determine the right approach for your skin type, conditions, and history.

Microdermabrasion & Dermaplaning FAQs

We offer both procedures because each has its own benefits for different conditions, skin types, and expectations. The best choice for you will depend on your specific concerns and goals. We can even combine services for certain patients. Make an appointment with ALo Medical to determine the right procedure for you!

The exact number of sessions will depend on your unique skin concerns. That said, many people see dermaplaning results after just one to two sessions. For optimal results, microdermabrasion usually takes a minimum of five sessions. Both treatments are quick, pain-free, and convenient!

Microdermabrasion does involve some mild recovery time. You might consider it a small “social vacation” of about a week where you should avoid makeup and may experience some skin redness. Dermaplaning does not involve any recovery time and doesn’t cause skin redness.
